8 Reasons Why It’s Time You Release Music in USB

Many musicians, from Bob Marley to Lady Gaga, have released albums in USB flash drives. We’re all going to that direction, it seems like. If you’re cynical about releasing in USB, here are some legit reasons why you should start considering the idea:

#1 It’s practical since it’s reusable. After they transfer their music to their hard drives, they can use your beautiful USB for their other files.

#2 Way more storage space than CDs. CDs only store up to 740 MB of music, while USB drives can store 1GB- 32GB or more. More room for music for special releases or compilation albums.

#3 You can put video interviews and music videos. Because of the storage space, now you can add all freebies you want from games to interviews.

#4 There are millions of ways to customize a thumb drive.  You can have flash drives with teddy bear design, beer can design, rocket design…anything at all. This is perfect for promoting your brand and luring your supporters to buy a physical product.

#5 Macbooks have no built-in CD Drives anymore. And we’re sure it will be harder and harder to play CDs a decade from now.

#6 Good for your marketing. It gives your fans the impression that you’re creative and modern and fun. You can also match it with your branding and create something buzzworthy.

#7 More options for fans. It doesn’t mean you should choose between CDs or USBs. Just sell both to give your fans more options. It’s also a great way to make your merch table and website more appealing.

#8 Easy to store and carry. CDs, especially if they’re special edition box sets, take up a lot of space and could be hard to stack and carry when you’re touring. Definitely not the case for USBs!
