Faker CD Packaging artwork

CD Packaging of the Week: Faker’s ‘Be The Twilight’

Band: Faker

Album: Be The Twilight

Designer: Debaser

Year: 2007

This album art has an eerie feel to it that draws me in and makes me remember all my childhood fears about the woods. It takes me back to my Are You Afraid of the Dark addiction . What I find especially find lovely with this art is that the band’s name really stands out. The bold colorful letters contrast to the dark setting which makes the letters come out of the CD cover.

This setting was created on an intricate scale at Debaser’s studio and photographed. Regular people like me would think that they actually made big letters and set them up in an actual forest but it is actually a miniature set with fake everything-fake plants, fake lake (that rhymes!), and the haze is produced by cigar smoke.  Oh so awesome. Check it out!
