DVD Replication: Things to Prepare, Things to Think About

Everybody knows that time is money that is why when it comes to DVD replication we do not want to waste our time, our clients time, nor our DVD replication house’s time. Delays in DVD replication could cost you and your client a lot (and we do not just mean money). One major delay in this industry could affect your reputation and your credibility.

So how does one achieve this you may ask. First of all you should know that there will always be something that can cause delays as one can never be too ready for any project but what we are trying to eliminate are MAJOR delays.  You can prevent major delays by being knowledgeable and prepared before you step inside your DVD replication company.  You should learn how to think ahead and work ahead.

For DVD replication, here are some things that you should bring and think about so you will not come ill-equipped.

A flawless Mastered DVD

It is your main responsibility to check and re-check your mastered DVD for small flaws. Bear in mind that the DVD replication company will copy the master to perfection so you better be extra meticulous with your master. Because of this, it is advisable that you have your DVD mastered by a pro. A simple slip could ruin the whole film and that is the last thing you want to happen.

A high-resolution copy of your DVD packaging design

The packaging should be designed a month or a few weeks before you step inside your DVD replication company to save you time and hassles.  Make sure you check each text, color, size, etc of the packaging so you would not have to start from scratch just because of a misspelled word.

Know what DVD case you want for your project

Again, this is another ‘small’ thing that needs a group consensus. There are plenty of DVD case options for you other than the standard DVD amaray case. You can even have a DVD case design customized if you want to get more creative.  This goes together with your DVD artwork in that when you brainstorm for your artwork, you also decide on this at the same time.

A good estimate of the number of DVDs you want to replicate

You should decide on this before you contact your DVD replication company so they would not have to wait while you think about it. Small things like this could take a while and you cannot decide them on your own at the last minute because you have to ask your team or your clients opinion. So during your next meeting, bring this up so you can know for sure what to say when your DVD replication company asks you the exact number of copies you want.

There are still a lot of other things that you need to prepare before you step inside your DVD replication house but these things I listed above are the most essential. I hope you will find this article useful and good luck on your project.
