Items applied with thermochromic ink or crystals change color when temperature changes making your design interactive and fun. One popular example of this is the famous mood ring. Polar Ice Cap shirt which demonstrates the drastic melting of the North Polar Ice Caps from 1980 to 2009. Using a water-based thermochromic ink, the image of the 1980 ice caps will “melt” away as your surrounding temperature rises to 96.8 Fahrenheit.

When heated up by the simple touch of a hand, theCD artwork will change opacity, revealing hidden images on the cover and hidden song titles on the back cover.


Thermochromic book packaging

An ever changing book cover was created by combining a photochromic and thermochromic ink. The ink that is used for the typography is thermochromic and is getting transparent when temperature rises. The image (photochromic ink) appears only when exposed to UV light (sun).
